IC Rating™ is a proven methodology to assess an organization’s Human Capital, Internal Structural Capital and External Structural Capital, all of which collectively constitute its Intellectual Capital. It is a world-acclaimed, scientifically - structured, globally calibrated methodology that is objective, universal and validated across more than 250 companies, cutting across diverse geographies, sizes, and sectors.

IC Rating™ provides the management with a straightforward and an easy-to-implement framework for optimising the competitiveness of the organisation. There are three important areas:

bullet

A foundation for a modern business control system, with clear and measurable goals, for maximising future profitability. The analysis can be repeated in order to measure goal achievement over time.

bullet

A basis for improvement and change activities that can be used at both  managerial and operational levels. The rating identifies areas of improvement and highlights indicative steps to achieve the desired outcome.

bullet

A structured view of the company's value creating assets that can be used for stakeholder communication - investors, employees and customers.

Intellectual Capital - A Synergistic Aggregation

Structural capital complements the human capital of an organisation to produce the momentum to seize the future.

What are the building blocks of Intellectual Capital?

The determinants for success of a business or its business recipe include the business idea and strategy in combination with the market conditions in the chosen business environment. A strong indicator of the strength of the business recipe is how well differentiated a company is. The business recipe provides the framework within which the various elements of intellectual capital are fostered. The value of a company's intellectual capital is a combination of the strength of the business recipe and the effectiveness of the human and its structural capital

Organisational structural capital is a result of the employees' efforts to transfer their knowledge to the company. It is independent of individuals and is effective 24 hours a day.

Intellectual property can be defined as packaged and protected knowledge. Examples of intellectual property are patents, license agreements and in-house developed software that create competitive advantages and temporary monopolies.

Process capital aims at making it possible for employees to increase the financial return on their knowledge and competence. Examples of process capital are well-developed work-processes and methods, IT-support, reusable competence and organisational effectiveness.

Human capital consists of the people working for the company. The company has limited control over this resource.

Relational structural capital comprises relevant stakeholders in the business environment of a company. It consists of relationships with business partners and other external connections that go towards fulfilling the company's needs, and also includes elements like reputation and customer potential.
